评中国当代艺术家丁飞的绘画艺术

作为一个西方艺术的收藏家和商人,我认为,丁飞先生深刻的艺术作品是超越文化边境而成为一种国际语言,给人带来视觉美感和愉悦。
丁飞作品的突出特点是具有鲜明而独特的形式感。这使作品的面貌与传统中国画拉开了较大距离。艺术家十分注重形式中的“肌理”,独创“牛屎皴”作画,而不刻意保持传统的“笔墨趣味”。“肌理”可以是多种多样的,既可以“写”出,也可以略加制作,在色彩的使用上,大胆夸张,敢出惊人之笔,可见其对西方绘画中色彩的借鉴。
从作品总体看,依然是以中国画的笔墨为主要表现手段的。在大多数作品中,既保持了水墨的晕透,又可见出用笔的正侧顺逆和行笔的疾徐。从而,使许多作品带有较强的“大写意”味道。也因作品所表达的意境,使其保持了中国艺术的基本特征。
丁飞以墨与彩在宣纸、画布上随性随情绘出的山水风物气象万千,可谓“墨彩通灵”,墨彩下所蕴含的东方意韵令人沉醉,其笔端自然流露出西方的浪漫主义色彩。
中、西艺术之间虽存矛盾,却兼备共存的空间。正如好友张森先生所言:丁飞先生实现了将自然景物提炼为抽象元素的转化,经过数十年艺术生涯的演进,画面间的经营布局更臻圆融,从点、线、面的本身表现到其间的符号意指,从形式方面的探讨至精神追求,都兼具了“有法”与“无法”。
我们看到丁飞将欧洲油画色彩的丰富细腻性与中国传统艺术精神、审美理想融合在一起,把诗情画意运用点、线、面等基础元素表现出来,成功结合了书法笔墨的细腻与油画特有的色彩特质,将原本具象的风景赋予更深层纯粹的抽象意念与美感,并同时展现了深具中国精神的民族性与时代感。
站在发展的角度看问题,丁飞独树一帜的“墨彩通灵”在中国当代美术史上将占有非同寻常的地位。
在表现他丰富的情感世界和敏感的精神世界时,丁飞先生创造了具有鲜明个人特征的表现手法,展现出奇妙的美感,使他的作品具有独特的魅力,藏有他的作品会非常享受。

Comments on Chinese Contemporary Artist Ding Fei’s Painting
For me, as a collector and dealer of Western Art, the paintings by Mr. Ding Fei which are particularly profound transcend culturally specific recognizable character and meaning into an international language of visual beauty and sensation.
The focus of Ding Fei’s work is its vivid and unique formal sense. This pulls his works far away from traditional Chinese paintings. The artist creates the unique cow feces cun strokes to emphasize the “texture and pattern” of the formation, without affecting traditional “ink play.” The focus on “texture and pattern” can be varied in many ways: “written out,” or formulated. On the use of colour, he is brave and exaggerating, willing to experiment, demonstrating his integration of western philosophy and techniques.
Overall, his work is influenced by the fluid and classic strokes of Chinese painting. In most of Ding Fei’s works, the rendering of water and ink is maintained, at the same time, the vertical and horizontal brushstrokes and the speed of his painting are distinguished. This manner and characteristics preserve its basic features of Chinese art.
Ding Fei freely uses ink and colour to render mountains, water, wind and weather, blending the cultural distinctions of the Elegance of the East with Western Romanticism.
There are existing contradictions between Chinese art and Western art, nevertheless, there is room for coexistence. Just as my good friend, Mr. Leonardo Zhangsen stated: “After decades of inheriting, extending and renewing the Chinese traditions, Mr. Ding Fei has pushed the natural beauty towards an entirely new style of abstraction expression which shows the artist’s method and skill at its mature stage. From basic gestures of dots, lines and planes to the traditional Chinese visual artistic emotions of spirit and ideal aesthetics, Mr. Ding demonstrates a most proper manipulation of with law and without law.”
We can see Ding Fei’s works capitalize upon European oil painting's rich and meticulous colouring with traditional Chinese aesthetic. This sophisticated technique has successfully combined calligraphic brushwork and ink with oil painting's unique characteristics. Raising the originally representational landscape to a more profound level of abstract concept and aesthetic, while exhibiting the ethnicity of substantial Chinese spirit and sense of time.
Establishing a new foundation and development, Ding Fei’s unique “ink imbued with colour” plays a special role in Chinese Contemporary art history.
Mr. Ding Fei fully expresses his rich emotion and personal sensitive spirit with distinctive original techniques, displaying a highly stylistic artistic vision, which make his works so charming, enjoyable to view and a pleasure to own.
